With an IP Centrex telephone service you no longer need a PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system physically on your premises as all the switching of calls and associated features are provided remotely via your chosen service provider.
Making the Connection
Connection from the IP Centrex service to the customer’s premises is provided either using an existing IP network connection, such as a DSL service, or over an IP private network. Communications are distributed internally over your existing LAN (Local Area Network).
IP Extensions at the Desktop
Calls between users in a single tenancy or group of associated tenancies are, typically, free of charge and calls between groups of associated companies can, potentially, be at specially discounted rates. Telephony services are provided at the desktop through an accredited SIP compliant telephone handset or soft phone. Using a soft phone removes the cost to the business of providing telephone handsets. When used in conjunction with a private mobile network, mobile phones can be used as office extensions connected to an IP Centrex service.
