Reducing the Cost of Communications

Intelligent eXchange (iX) is the TeleWare IP Telephony soft switch delivering TeleWare’s Hosted Services which bring about a reduction in your telecommunications expenses. Our hosted phone service is an ideal alternative to an on-premise PBX solution, reducing the upfront investment and providing a fully supported and maintained evergreen solution that can be readily scaled to meet your current and future requirements.

Communications flexibility for your workforce is assured with iX facilitated from anywhere, at any time. A virtual business presence can be established at any location without physical offices enabling business expansion at minimum cost.

Outbound calls to both national and international numbers can be made at our highly competitive rates, considerably reducing your telecoms overheads. Further saving can be made using TeleWare SIP Trunks to replace traditional PSTN interconnects.

Resilience and Redundancy

The Hosted Communications’ services are hosted within two London data centres separated by over 23 miles as per the design recommendations provided by Ofcom. The platform provides call switching and voice applications from servers spread across the core network. The services run in both data centres simultaneously and capacity planning ensures adequate provision for Disaster Recovery at either data centre. A feature of iX is the ability to set up permanent Divert on Unobtainable configurations on a per extension or per SIP Trunk basis. The platform recognizes that a unit and/or network is unavailable and automatically diverts the call to a predefined number, which can be a mobile, DDI or PSTN number.

Security in the Platform

The hosted environment security is the responsibility of the platform provider and provides an opportunity to deploy a greater level of security than might be affordable within an on-premise solution. Risks such as Denial of Service (DoS), Protocol Attack, Registration Theft and Proxy Impersonation have been addressed within the TeleWare platform design to maximise security, not only through the software applications but in the architecture of the platform.

Scalable

IX uses stateless registrars and proxies to ensure a truly scalable solution that will address the requirements of organisations of all sizes. The system has been designed to accommodate a pay-as-you-grow approach for our customers and to be enlarged without disruption to existing users.

Network Independence

TeleWare is not a network service provider, we therefore have the advantage of being able to offer connections to a number of service providers representing the best of coverage, price, flexibility and reliability available in market and ensuring the best balance of call rates and resilience to meet differing business needs.

Multi Tenancy

Despite the hype regarding ‘free’ telephony, business phone bills for both mobile and fixed line services remain high and it is primarily through the capabilities provided by a multi tenancy architecture such as the iX that call costs can be reduced and ‘free’ or low cost calls between companies and communities can be provided to users who operate their communications from a common hosted architecture.
