In 2003, TeleWare Group created Private Mobile Networks Ltd (PMN). PMN launched a disruptive solution using proven technology to provide Fixed Mobile Convergence solutions for inbuilding coverage, and low powered spectrum infill solutions for remote locations or where mobile coverage is poor.
Low Powered Spectrum
Ofcom auctioned technology neutral spectrum in the GSM guard bands (1781.7-1785 MHz paired with 1876.7-1880 MHz) in March 2006 under The General Authorisation Regime. TeleWare PLC successfully bid and won a license. This licence allows PMN to deploy UK based solutions under their own licence as well as solutions overseas under local operator licences.
GSM in a Box
In December 2007, PMN launched a GSM in a Box solution that enables rapid coverage when and where needed. The solution enables rapid deployment of a secure private GSM network to provide local cover for fire, police and ambulance in the event of an incident where communication is lost or overloaded or temporary cover for construction site.
Low Bandwith Video
In April 2010, Private Mobile Networks Ltd announced a reciprocal agreement whereby the Vemotion low bandwidth live video streaming technology was integrated into the Private Mobile Networks Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU). The resulting video-enabled RDU enables rapid deployment of a remote Encoder and creation of a mobile video network operations centre.
